Met Gala 2025: Kiara Advani’s gown features a golden umbilical cord as a stunning tribute to motherhood

Kiara Advani made a show-stopping debut at the 2025 Met Gala, turning the red carpet into a runway of emotion, symbolism, and avant-garde fashion. The actor, expecting her first child, proudly showcased her baby bump in a powerful ensemble that combined couture craftsmanship with deeply personal storytelling.

Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, Kiara wore a custom creation by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta. The gown featured a sculpted metallic breastplate seamlessly connected to a heart-shaped ornament resting over her belly. A striking golden thread — symbolising the umbilical cord — tethered the heart to the bodice, creating a deeply emotional focal point in an otherwise futuristic silhouette.

The base of the gown was a sleek black fabric that hugged Kiara’s form, while a dramatic white train flowed behind her, adding drama and balance. The gown, titled Bravehearts, was not just a display of high fashion but also a celebration of motherhood, resilience, and the concept of legacy.
