The latest Telugu film Mazaka, starring Sundeep Kishan, has sparked a wide range of reactions on Twitter. Some viewers find it entertaining and fun, while others feel it lacks originality and depth. The film’s comedy, performances, and music have received praise, but its predictable storyline and weak second half have left some disappointed.
Reviewer Bossu shared a balanced take on the film, calling it “absolute entertainment” while rating it 3/5 overall. He broke down the ratings further: “Story = 2.9/5, Comedy = 3/5, Emotion = 3/5, BGM = 2.5/5, Acting = 4/5”. He also mentioned that the first half (2.85/5) was slightly better than the second half (2.75/5) but found the climax satisfactory.
GetsCinema had a much more positive outlook, calling Mazaka a “VERY GOOD FILM” and giving it a review rating of 88%. Their tweet highlighted audience reactions: “AUDIENCE are enjoying #RaoRamesh and #HyperAdhi sequences at its best ”. They also emphasized that Sundeep Kishan’s hit streak continues after Raayan and Bairava Kona.
Movies4u Official also found the film enjoyable, tweeting: “Positives: First Half , Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh , BGM & Somasillipothunnave song , Emotion ”. However, they pointed out flaws in the writing of the second half, calling it repetitive and routine. Their final verdict: “A decent entertainer!”.
Rajababu Anumula gave a more neutral review, saying “Mix of fun and emotions worked out in parts. #SundeepKishan and #RaoRamesh combo gels very well. @riturv #Anshu sizzles with glamour and performances. #Nakkina handles the script with balance. Watch the movie without logics.. it gives feel-good moments.” His review suggests that while the film is not groundbreaking, it has its enjoyable moments.
On the other hand, Rakshita had one of the most negative takes, calling Mazaka “WORST & OUTDATED”. She listed the negatives: “Worst writings, No laughs, Utterly predictable scenes, Love tracks of father and son, Songs”. However, she did acknowledge one strong point: “Positives: Rao Ramesh”.
Cinema Samosa also pointed out issues in the screenplay, tweeting: “Mazaka First Half: Starts off casually, relying on dialogues & moments rather than drama. Routine comedy feels lively but flat. No clear progression, just random plot lines popping up. Screenplay is too convenient. A fun passable ride so far, but nothing to hold on to.” This review suggests that while the first half is entertaining, the film fails to build momentum.
M9 News offered a more critical take on the first half, tweeting: “Mazaka first half is passable with the right expectations, offers a fresh hook and a couple of fun blocks that work well. It’s mostly routine, and while not all comedy attempts land, Rao Ramesh shines.” Their assessment indicates that the film has its moments but struggles with consistency.
For those who enjoy mass entertainers, Mazaka is worth a watch. However, those looking for a fresh and gripping narrative might find it underwhelming.
