Kaun Banega Crorepati 16

The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 kicked off with rollover contestant Dhanraj Dhirubhai Modi, who had already won Rs 3,20,000 in the previous episode. As the show resumed, the host, Amitabh Bachchan, complimented Dhanraj for his calm and composed demeanor. With the game back on track, Mr. Bachchan presented Dhanraj with the first question of the episode, which was for Rs 6,40,000. The question posed was, “Which of these historic locations is not a UNESCO World Heritage Site?”

After pondering the options for a while, Dhanraj felt uncertain and decided to use the 'Audience Poll' lifeline. The audience vote leaned toward Option C) Harappa, and Dhanraj followed their choice. Fortunately, this was the correct answer, allowing him to move on to the next round. His journey continued smoothly until the Rs 12,50,000 question.

The next question asked, “Out of the current MPs from Bardhaman-Durgapur, Baharampur, Sundargarh, and Begusarai, how many are cricket World Cup winners?” Unsure of the answer, Dhanraj used his 'Video Call A Friend' lifeline, but the assistance didn't provide him with enough confidence. Left with his final lifeline, 'Double Dip,' Dhanraj first selected Option A) Only 1, which was incorrect. He then chose Option C) Only 3, which also turned out to be wrong. The correct answer was Option B) Only 2. With no lifelines left and an incorrect answer, Dhanraj's prize money dropped to Rs 3,20,000, and he exited the show.

After Dhanraj’s exit, Mr. Bachchan hosted another round of 'Fastest Finger First,' in which contestant Ravi Kumar from Rajasthan emerged as the quickest and secured a seat in the hot seat. Ravi, who works with Indian Railways, expressed his excitement by bowing to the KBC set before taking his position. The first question posed to him was for Rs 1000, “Which of these is typically worn in cold weather?” Ravi confidently selected Option D) Sweater, which was the correct answer.

During the game, Ravi opened up about the water scarcity issue in his village in Rajasthan. He shared how the villagers face challenges due to fluoride contamination in the regular water supply, which makes it unsafe for consumption. A short video was shown, depicting how the villagers are forced to buy drinking water due to the contamination. Ravi’s story highlighted the struggles of rural life, and Mr. Bachchan empathetically acknowledged the gravity of the situation.

As the game progressed, Ravi faced the Rs 5000 question, which asked, “Which of these films does not star Ranveer Singh?” Without hesitation, Ravi confidently selected Option A) Animal—a film starring Ranbir Kapoor, not Ranveer Singh—and his answer was correct.

Taking a moment away from the game, Ravi praised Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in Animal, specifically highlighting the thrilling action sequences. “Sir, I watched Animal in the theater. That firing scene—‘dhayen, dhayen, dhayen’—was outstanding! One of the best,” he exclaimed enthusiastically. Amitabh Bachchan, intrigued by Ravi’s passion for films, asked if he truly enjoyed the movie. Ravi responded with a resounding “Yes,” adding, “And sir, I loved your Shahenshah movie too, that was ‘ek number’ (top-notch)!”

To everyone’s amusement, Ravi even reenacted one of Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic moves from Shahenshah. With the mood in the studio lightened, Ravi further shared stories of his humble beginnings. He explained that his family was financially struggling at the time, living in a modest house without a television. To watch films, they would often rely on neighbors who would invite only selected people over to enjoy a movie screening.
