Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar underwent successful surgery for bladder cancer at the Miami Cancer Institute (MCI) in the United States on December 24, 2024.
Prior to his departure for treatment, the actor had reassured fans that his condition was manageable and under control. Recently, his daughter, Niveditha Shivarajkumar, provided an update on his health via a heartfelt statement on X (formerly twitter), expressing gratitude for the overwhelming love and support the family has received during this challenging time. Fans continue to send their best wishes for his speedy recovery.
In her statement, Niveditha wrote, "With the grace of God, my father’s surgery was successfully completed. He is now in stable condition and recovering well.” She added, “Throughout this journey, my father has been a pillar of strength."
She conveyed her deep appreciation to the medical team at MCI, particularly Dr. Murugesh Manoharan, for their outstanding care and dedication. Niveditha also expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans for their prayers and steadfast support for their cherished superstar.
Dr Murugesh Manoharan also shared an update on Shiva Rajkumar’s condition post-surgery. In a video statement, he said, "Mr Shiva Rajkumar’s surgery went very well. He had his cancerous bladder removed completely. Following this, he had an artificial bladder recreated using his own intestine.” He further added, “Shivanna is a very strong person, mentally and physically. He was very stable throughout the surgery and post-op as well."
Speaking about Shiva Rajkumar’s recovery, Dr Manoharan continued and said, "He is stable, and all his laboratory tests are very good. I expect him, with God’s grace, to recover very quickly and get back to normalcy within a few weeks."
The update brings relief to fans of the Kannada superstar, who had been fervently praying for his swift recovery. Supporters organized special poojas ahead of the surgery, wishing Shiva Rajkumar strength and good health. His wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar, also expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support and mentioned that Shiva Rajkumar would personally connect with them in a few days.
Shiva Rajkumar was last seen in the Kannada movie Bhairathi Rangal, which hit theaters on November 15, 2024. The actor is actively working on several projects, including Uttarakaanda, 45, and Bhairavana Kone Paata. Additionally, he is set to appear in Ram Charan’s highly anticipated RC 16.
