The Ganesh Chaturthi festivities may be over, but the devotion clearly lingers. Shikhar Pahariya, boyfriend of Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, shared a heartfelt post after attending the visarjan of the famous Lalbaugcha Raja idol in Mumbai.

On Sunday, Shikhar uploaded a series of pictures on Instagram from the grand immersion. The photos showed Shikhar standing beside the Ganesh idol, capturing the grandeur of the deity and the emotional farewell at the beach. In his caption, he wrote, “Victory to Lalbaugcha Raja! Ganapati Bappa Moraya… Come soon next year. The city of dreams bows to the remover of obstacles.”

The post instantly caught attention, not just for the visuals but also for the sentiment. Like millions of Mumbaikars, Shikhar seemed to be missing Lord Ganesha already, a feeling that resonates with devotees after 10 days of celebrations.

For context, the Lalbaugcha Raja idol is among Mumbai’s most iconic Ganesh pandals. Established in 1934 by the fishermen of the Koli community, the mandal was born out of a vow when their old market was shut down.

The fisherman promised Lord Ganesha that if given a permanent market, they would honor him with a grand festival every year. Since then, the idol has become a cultural and spiritual landmark, attracting lakhs of devotees daily during the festival not just from Mumbai but all over the country.
