Jaadu Teri Nazar actress Khushi Dubey on the show going off-air unexpectedly: ‘Constant changes in the time slot may have not worked’ – Exclusive

Khushi Dubey has contributed to a number of well-known serials, including Atoot Rishtey Ki Dor, Kasamh Se and Rakhi, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai, and Naaginn.

She also portrayed Naman Jain's sister in the 2013 movie Bombay Talkies.

More recently, she was the leading lady of  Star Plus supernatural thriller series Jaadu Teri Nazar – Daayan Ka Mausam, where she played the main character, Gauri.

In an exclusive conversation with Moneycontrol, Khushi shared details about her experience shooting for the project, her interest in different roles and her future ventures.

Shedding light on her experience shooting for Jaadu Teri Nazar – Daayan Ka Mausam, she said, “It was beautiful and the good part was that it was the same team of Aashiqana. Star Plus had introduced a supernatural drama after a long time and it was not only the concept, but the storyline and the cast were also very well planned and executed.”

When asked about the shows biting the dust quite earlier than expected, Khushi averred, “Well, over the past few years, it is seen that very good and heavily invested shows have gone off-air within a very short span of time. There are also shows which have a loyal audience and run for a longer span but speaking in that scenario too, I have noticed that shows which are expected to run for maybe around five years go off-air in a year. So, there is a shift in television viewing.”

Speaking about the concept of shows like Jaadu Teri Nazar which is quite distinguished, the actress expressed, “Star Plus, in my view, has an audience who are youngsters who love fantasy and shows based on angels and demons. The second section prefers kitchen politics. This show was an amalgamation of both. Speaking about Nazar, the show had a timeslot which was fixed while somehow, we had to keep changing our time slot and this never works in favour of the show.”

Speaking about her future projects, Khushi mentioned, “I want to play roles through which I get to learn something from the character. There are very rare characters that connect to your heart. As for future projects, there are a few I am in talks with but nothing has been finalised as yet.”
