Sadie Sink responds to fan theories on her character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day: "Hair colour can change"

Sadie Sink, widely loved for her role as Max in Stranger Things, is all set to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Her addition to the cast has sparked massive buzz online, with fans eagerly speculating about the mysterious character she will be playing. While the film’s plot remains tightly guarded, Sink’s casting has led to fans and netizens coming up with countless theories.

Sadie's first look, sporting red hair, camo pants, and boots from the sets went viral on social media earlier in October, 2025. That is when fans started linking her appearance to iconic Marvel characters such as Jean Grey or Mayday Parker. However, Sink has now stepped in to cool down the speculation.

In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the actress clarified that her hair colour in the leaked photos isn’t a clue at all. “Hair colour can change,” she said with a smile, subtly shutting down theories tied to red-haired Marvel heroes.

“A lot of people forget that hair colour can change, but, yeah, I understand all of the theories,” she added, acknowledging the excitement without giving anything away.

When pressed for more details, Sink remained purposefully secretive. “People will just have to wait and see,” she said. “I’m excited for all of it to maybe be put to rest.” Her response further fuelled intrigue around the character she’s set to portray.

Adding to the excitement, Sink will also reprise her Marvel role in Avengers: Secret Wars, which is scheduled to begin filming in London in 2026. This confirms that her MCU debut will be more than just a cameo — it’s the start of a long-term arc.

The makers of Spider-Man: Brand New Day have not revealed any official details about Sink’s character yet, keeping fans on their toes. She will join an impressive ensemble featuring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.
