Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja backs son’s debut project: "Saiyaara se better picture kar raha hai Yash"

Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja have found themselves in the spotlight recently due to persistent rumours around their marriage. While speculation about divorce has been swirling, their daughter Tina Ahuja and the actor’s manager have already clarified that such reports are baseless.

Against this backdrop, Sunita chose to open up on something much closer to her heart — her son Yashvardhan’s Bollywood debut and her warm wishes for the new generation of star kids.

During a chat with Eat Travel Repeat, Ssunita came across a fan’s comment online that said, “Yashvardhan itna handsome hai. Saiyaara mein usse hi hona chahiye tha.” Smiling, she replied, “I wish. But usse better picture kar raha hai Yash.”

She revealed that although she hasn’t yet managed to watch Ahaan Panday’s blockbuster debut Saiyaara, her son has already seen it twice. “Maine abhi tak dekhi nahi hai. Yash ne do baar dekhi hai. Main dekhungi, mujhe dekhna hai. But abhi 14 tareek ko shayad aa raha hai naa Netflix pe (laughs). But good good. Best of luck to all the kids who are coming up. And I want ki sab bachhe khoob naam kamaye.”

Ssunita also reflected on her connection to Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon. “Yash ke saath hai uska. I have not met her still, like 'met her' met her. But Raveena ne mujhe phone ki thi, trial mein aane ke liye. Main Jaipur mein thi, Khatu Shyam. Main pooja kar rahi thi. Toh I told her I couldn't come. But maine theatre mein jaake dekhi picture, achhi lagi mujhe. She's a sweet girl. Raveena ka bachpan yaad aata hai.”

With Ahaan Panday emerging as an overnight sensation in Saiyaara and Rasha Thadani winning hearts in Azaad, Ssunita believes it’s a wonderful time for young talent. Yashvardhan, meanwhile, is preparing for his own big debut with the Hindi remake of Sai Rajesh’s acclaimed Telugu film Baby (2023).

For Sunita, her words carry both pride and warmth. Even amidst noise about her personal life, her focus is firmly on wishing well for all the new actors stepping into the industry — and most of all, supporting her son as he takes his first steps onto the big stage.
