From Selena Gomez to Squid Game: 2025 Emmys' biggest snubs

Selena bagged her first-ever Emmy nomination last year for her stellar performance in Only Murders in the Building. Despite the series earning eight nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, the actress failed to earn even one this year.

Squid Game
Korean thriller Squid Game brought a storm with its gripping and emotional finale. The series had earned 14 nominations, including Best Drama, becoming the first non-English series to do so at the 2022 Emmy Awards. The series was snubbed at the 2025 Emmys.

Patrick Schwarzenegger
Even though nearly everyone received a nomination for the HBO series, The White Lotus, Patrick Schwarzenegger's snub was the biggest surprise of the evening. His character has been hailed by critics as the season's emotional core.

The Handmaid’s Tale
The Handmaid’s Tale concluded its six seasons with a thrilling series finale this year in May. However, the final set of episodes didn't end up receiving any nominations. The show has received 15 Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series, and has been nominated for 77 Emmys during its run, so this is a surprising move.

Yellowjackets
Yellowjackets didn't receive any nominations this year despite surviving the bitterly cold Canadian winter through cannibalism and mutiny in Season 3 which premiered in April.

Diego Luna
Andor received 14 nominations this year, but the series star, Diego Luna, was not selected to compete in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category alongside Adam Scott, Pedro Pascal, Gary Oldman, Noah Wyle, and Sterling K. Brown.

Steve Martin
Martin Short was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Only Murders in the Building. However, his co-conspirator Steve Martin was left off the list.

Agatha All Along
Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza and Joe Locke starrer mini series failed to earn even a single Emmy nomination 2025. Kathryn and the cast failed to conjure up any magic in the nominations list.
