Renowned folk artist Darshanam Mogilaiah, who shot to fame with Tollywood movie Balagam, passed away on Thursday morning.
Mogilaiah who was popularly known as Kinnera Mogilaiah, was undergoing treatment for kidney ailment in Warangal.
He breathed his last on Thursday morning at a private hospital.
His treatment's expenses were being taken care of by Balagam director Venu, its crew members and the state government.
Mogilaiah was one of the last remaining players of a stringed tribal musical instrument called ‘Kinnera'. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2022 for his contribution to music.
Many political leaders and noted personalities have expressed grief over the passing away of this gem.
