Diljit Dosanjh was born on January 6, 1984, in Dosanjh Kalan, Punjab. Starting his career in 2002, he gained recognition through albums like Smile (2005) and Chocolate (2008). His acting debut came in 2011 with The Lion of Punjab.

Diljit made his Bollywood debut in 2016 with Udta Punjab, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He gained further recognition with Good Newwz (2019), which earned him his second Filmfare nomination.

Dosanjh entered Billboard’s Social 50 chart in 2020 with his 11th album G.O.A.T., which reached the top of Billboard’s Top Triller Global chart. His 12th album, Moonchild Era, also charted internationally.

Diljit starred in some of the highest-grossing Punjabi films, including Jatt & Juliet 2 and Sajjan Singh Rangroot. His 2021 production, Honsla Rakh, became a massive success, setting opening-day records for Punjabi cinema.

In 2023, Dosanjh became the first Indian Punjabi artist to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He wowed global audiences, further establishing his international presence.

Diljit continued expanding his reach with his 2024 portrayal of Amar Singh Chamkila in an Imtiaz Ali film, praised for his emotional depth. He also performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in June 2024.

Diljit has worked with major brands like Coca-Cola and Flipkart. He was also the brand ambassador for Star Sports Pro Kabaddi Season 4 and sang the theme song “Asli Panga” for the league.

Diljit founded the Saanjh Foundation in 2013, focusing on helping underprivileged children and seniors. The NGO also works on youth empowerment, self-confidence, and anti-bullying initiatives.
