A massive fire broke out on the set of Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil film Idly Kadai in Anupapatti village, located in Tamil Nadu’s Theni district. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation by local authorities.
The set, which was carefully constructed to resemble a lively street filled with shops and houses, had been left unused after the production moved to a new location. Preparations were underway to resume filming when the fire occurred, raising concerns among the film’s cast and crew.
The film is directed by Dhanush himself, who also plays the lead role. He is co-producing the movie, which is slated for release on October 1 this year. Despite the disruption, the team is expected to continue with the production as scheduled, although damage to the set may require rebuilding.
The news was first reported by ANI, and it has since gained attention across social media and news outlets. Fans have expressed relief that no one was harmed and have extended their support to the cast and crew.
Idly Kadai features a star-studded cast including Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj, and Rajkiran in prominent roles. The film is being jointly produced by Wunderbar Films and Dawn Pictures, and will be distributed by Red Giant Movies.
The technical team includes Kiran Koushik as the cinematographer, GV Prakash Kumar handling the music, and Prasanna GK as the editor.
With high expectations surrounding Idly Kadai, the production team is working to recover from the setback and ensure that the film stays on track for its October release.
