Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin created waves among Indian fans by embracing Punjabi culture during a recent concert in Abu Dhabi. The highlight of the evening came when Martin read out a fan's signboard featuring Diljit Dosanjh’s iconic catchphrase, "Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye!" The phrase, which translates to "Punjabis have arrived," became a cultural sensation following Diljit's groundbreaking performance at Coachella in 2023.

Martin’s attempt to pronounce the Punjabi phrase was met with thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd. Delighted by the warm reception, the singer added, “We love you too.” The moment didn’t go unnoticed by Diljit Dosanjh’s team, who shared the viral clip on Instagram Stories with the caption: “Chris Martin says PUNJABI AA GAYE OYE…..!!!! Chris Martin reading Coldplay fan posters and flags is so wholesome.”

This wholesome interaction has further fueled excitement for Coldplay’s much-anticipated return to India as part of their Music of the Spheres world tour. The band is scheduled to perform in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, marking their first visit since their 2016 performance at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh has also been making headlines for his successful Dil-Luminati tour, which recently concluded its India leg with sold-out shows in cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ludhiana.

Coldplay's upcoming concerts have not been without controversy. The Bombay High Court recently dismissed a petition filed by advocate Amit Vyas seeking stricter guidelines to curb ticket scalping and black marketing. The plea cited irregularities in ticket sales for major events, including concerts by Taylor Swift, Diljit Dosanjh, and Coldplay. The court ruled that such matters fall within legislative and executive jurisdiction, advising the petitioner to approach the government for action.
