Captain America: Brave New World teases Anthony Mackie’s role as Captain America and Red Hulk’s transformation

Marvel has returned with another superhero adventure, unveiling the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World. The trailer offers fans an exhilarating preview of the challenges Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) faces as he takes on the mantle of Captain America.

The thrilling two-minute trailer provides a captivating preview of the high-stakes global conflict and the personal struggles Sam Wilson faces as he embraces his new role as Captain America to provide freedom and justice.

The film features Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, alongside Harrison Ford as U.S. President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, and Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon. Also starring are Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Shira Haas as the Israeli superhero Sabra, Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, Liv Tyler reprising her role as Betty Ross, and Tim Blake Nelson as the Leader.

Captain America: Brave New World follows Sam Wilson as he is presented with a tempting offer from Ross, who seeks to make him a U.S. agent. While Sam remains hesitant, his decision is interrupted when he must thwart an assassin at the White House. Additionally, Harrison Ford's character, Ross, will undergo a transformation into the Red Hulk, a gamma-powered alter ego from the Marvel comics, as reported by Variety.

In the storyline, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passes on the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) at the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame in 2019. After saying farewell to his fellow Avengers and traveling back in time to live out a peaceful life with Peggy Carter, Rogers entrusts his iconic vibranium shield to Sam, who promises to honor the legacy of the legendary hero.

As Ross adopts the darker identity of the Red Hulk, he emerges as a powerful foe for Sam Wilson's Captain America. The trailer offers a first glimpse of Ross's transformation into the Red Hulk, hinting at a fierce conflict that will reverberate across both the nation and the globe.

Captain America: Brave New World, directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
