Boney Kapoor on late wife Sridevi's hidden talent: "She was hiding a filmmaker in herself"

In a deep conversation with Komal Nahta’s Game Changers Producer series podcast, producer Boney Kapoor discussed about his late wife Sridevi and talked about the hidden talents the actress had. Sridevi was far more than just an actor and was also known as the powerhouse performer to the world as well Kapoor revealed.

Kapoor immediately responded and agreed when the host Komal Nahta asked him if Sridevi had aspirations other than acting, such as becoming a writer, director, or producer.
“She was everything you said,” Kapoor replied. “She was also hiding a filmmaker in herself. She would just stand and make out that the light is not perfect. She would do half her makeup herself, she used to decide what hairstyle goes with what costume, she used to guide, rather give sketch, to the designer quite a few times.”

Kapoor also recalled Sridevi’s deep involvement it the creative process and going beyond the call of a performer. Sharing an incident from the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja where the legendary actress rejected initial costume sketches the sent the designer to Kashmir to rework on them.
“She changed the whole color theme, in bargain I had to change the whole set theme to match it,” Kapoor, demonstrating how her creative vision impacted whole productions.
