Sridevi and Boney

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi's love story was nothing short of magical. It was a tale filled with passion, highs and lows, and ultimately a bond that lasted more than two decades. Their journey together was both joyful and challenging, as they navigated the pressures of stardom and personal lives in the public eye. Tragically, this beautiful love story came to a heartbreaking end when Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018. Yet, even after her death, Boney Kapoor’s devotion to his late wife remains unwavering.
In a recent interview with ABP Life, Boney Kapoor opened up about his enduring love for Sridevi, revealing how deeply he feels for her, even now. He confessed that despite life's changes, his heart will always belong to her.
"We were inseparable. I was in love with her, I am in love with her, and I will be in love with her till my dying day," he shared, reflecting on the depth of his feelings.

"When the most sought-after beauty, when the most sought-after personality becomes convinced to spend the rest of her life with you, what greater joy could there be?" For Boney, the fact that Sridevi chose him, among so many others, was the greatest joy of his life.
Their connection was not just about the superficial charms of fame and fortune but about a deep emotional bond that transcended all boundaries. Boney, who is known for his pragmatic nature, never wavered in his commitment to Sridevi. He also emphasized that his love for her was exclusive. "I never cheated on her, I never had to look here or there. She was my everything," Boney affirmed, underlining the loyalty and admiration he had for his late wife.

However, in a moment of vulnerability, Boney also acknowledged the reality that even a love as profound as his for Sridevi doesn't mean that other feelings don't exist. He admitted that while his heart will always belong to Sridevi, he is still human and capable of being attracted to other women. "Even today, I may have (female) friends, I may get attracted to females around me, but as far as she's concerned, the passion and love will never go away," he revealed, adding that his feelings for Sridevi are eternal and irreplaceable. His honesty about these complex emotions showed the depth of his commitment — love for a person, he seems to suggest, doesn’t necessarily diminish with time or new experiences.
Boney also took the opportunity to reflect on the evolution of relationships over time. As with many couples, their bond grew and matured as the years went by. According to Boney, while early years of marriage can be filled with excitement and an eagerness to please, the passage of time leads to deeper understanding and trust. "You learn so many things about your partner over the journey," he explained. "You learn to become careful about not doing things they don’t like. Both sides grow to understand each other." He also highlighted how relationships can change when the children grow older, bringing a different dynamic to the couple’s bond.
Boney spoke about the natural shifts that occur in long-term relationships, referring to the "seven-year itch" that many couples experience. He elaborated on how, over time, individuals start to feel more comfortable expressing their true feelings. "For the first seven years, they just bear everything, but after seven years, especially after the kids are older and the women realise they have more power over you, then they reveal their true feelings." He laughed softly, acknowledging the complexities of such transitions. But these changes were not something Boney feared; rather, he embraced them as part of the natural evolution of their partnership.
Though their relationship was not without its ups and downs, Boney’s reverence for Sridevi has only deepened in the years since her passing. His openness in talking about his love for her — even when admitting to feeling attraction toward others — shows the layered nature of grief and love. For Boney, Sridevi was, and will always be, the love of his life. Despite life's inevitable shifts, his love for her is a constant, unwavering force.
In his final words, Boney summed up his feelings with a simple yet profound declaration: "I will be in love with her till my dying day." And for him, there is no room for anything less. Sridevi will remain his everything, forever engraved in his heart.
