Who is Peter Haag, actress Celina Jeitly's husband accused of domestic violence?

The 47-year-old actor stated that she faced severe emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse from her husband.

Actress Celina Jaitly has reportedly filed a domestic-violence case against her husband, Peter Haag, before the Judicial Magistrate First Class at the Andheri Court, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The plea was heard on Tuesday by Judicial Magistrate S. C. Tadye, who issued a notice to Haag and scheduled the next hearing for December 12. In her application, filed through the law firm Karanjwala & Co., Celina accused Haag of domestic violence, cruelty, and manipulation under the Domestic Violence Act.

The 47-year-old actor stated that she faced severe emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse from her husband. She claimed the situation became so unbearable that she was forced to leave their home in Austria and return to India for safety.

Who is Peter Haag?

Peter Haag is an entrepreneur from Austria, known for his work as a hotelier, marketeer, and brand strategist. Reports suggest he has been associated with leading hotel chains in Dubai and Singapore.

As per reports, before marrying Celina Jaitly in 2011, Peter Haag held key marketing and management positions in renowned hospitality groups, including the Emaar Hospitality Group in Dubai.

Celina and Peter tied the knot on July 23, 2011, in an intimate ceremony held at a 1,000-year-old monastery in Austria. They welcomed twin boys in 2012. Five years later, Celina gave birth to another set of twin boys, but tragically, one of the babies passed away due to a heart defect.

The couple first met in 2010 at an event in Dubai through a mutual family friend. They connected instantly and soon started talking regularly. Peter later travelled to India in 2010 to meet Celina’s parents.

Celina has previously shared how he proposed. She had recalled that the two had gone out one evening to one of their favourite places, and he had specifically asked her to wear a sari for the occasion.

It was that same evening that he proposed to her, after which they got engaged in a quiet ceremony on September 23 at their Mumbai home, surrounded by family. She mentioned that they remained engaged for a year before eventually getting married.
