Acclaimed actor Vivek Oberoi is set to be honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) Award for Best Supporting Actor (Male) for his performance in Indian Police Force. The grand ceremony, named after the father of Indian cinema, will take place on October 30, 2025, in Worli, Mumbai.
The DPIFF, one of India’s most prestigious film honors, has a long legacy of recognizing cinematic excellence. Over the years, it has celebrated some of the biggest icons in the industry, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Nayanthara. Vivek Oberoi now joins this illustrious list with a performance that has left both audiences and critics deeply impressed.
In Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force, streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Oberoi portrays IPS officer Vikram Bakshi—a patriotic, determined cop on a mission to thwart a terrorist attack in Delhi. His portrayal of a disciplined, duty-bound officer struck a chord with viewers. Critics lauded his controlled intensity, emotional depth, and powerful presence, calling it one of his finest roles in recent years.

Oberoi’s career has been marked by a willingness to experiment across genres. From his gritty breakout in Company to the romantic charm of Saathiya, the dramatic punch of Omkara, and the grandeur of Krrish 3, he has continually evolved as a performer. His transition to digital platforms with Inside Edge and Indian Police Force has further expanded his reach to a younger audience.
The actor’s upcoming slate also promises range and ambition — including Masti 4, a return to the hit comedy franchise; Spirit, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated dark action drama; and Ramayan, a mythological epic expected to be one of India’s most ambitious film projects.
As Vivek Oberoi gears up to receive the DPIFF Award, his recognition serves as both a personal milestone and a reminder of his steady, adaptive journey through the ever-changing landscape of Indian cinema.
