Dreams have always existed in Bollywood, but not all of them come true.
Vicky Arora is a name that briefly gained popularity before quickly losing it. His debut in Feroz Khan's Yalgaar made him an overnight sensation, and he even made an appearance in the popular song Ho Jata Hai Kaise Pyar.
However, the industry failed to retain him despite the initial hype.
Vicky, an ordinary boy with extraordinary charm, was raised in Mumbai. During his college years, his attractiveness drew him into modelling, and he soon started receiving assignments from some of the biggest brands. He found the world of lights, cameras, and opportunities to be fascinating.
Fascinatingly, Vicky attended college with Feroz Khan's daughter Laila Khan, a relationship that would unintentionally influence his future.
At the time, Feroz Khan was searching for the perfect lead for Yalgaar. He approached some of Bollywood’s biggest names — Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan — but they all turned down the role.
On Laila’s recommendation, Feroz decided to meet Vicky. “Feroz was impressed by Vicky’s pictures and decided to cast him in the film,” a source revealed. For Vicky, it was a dream coming true, a chance to step into the world he had long admired.

But the journey wasn’t smooth. Rumours suggest Feroz felt Vicky’s expressions didn’t quite bring the character to life. At one point, he even considered dubbing Vicky’s voice because, reportedly, “voice wasn’t strong enough.” Despite the criticism, Vicky tried to navigate the challenges, but fate had other plans.
After the film’s release, offers did come in. Producers were keen to cast him, recognising his screen presence and charisma.
However, Vicky was unable to accept any of them due to a legally binding agreement with Feroz. The relationship with the director soured as frustration gradually set in. Vicky gradually vanished from the business, leading a peaceful life away from Bollywood's spotlight.
