Sunny Deol announces new film Gabru with the first glimpse on his 68th birthday, film to release next year

Bollywood veteran Sunny Deol celebrated his 68th birthday on Sunday by treating fans to the first poster of his upcoming film ‘Gabru’, scheduled to release on March 13, 2026.

In his post, Sunny wrote, “Power isn’t what you show, it’s what you do! Thank you everyone, for your love and blessings. Here’s something for all of you who have been waiting #Gabru IN CINEMAS 13 March 2026. A story of courage, conscience, and compassion. From my heart to the world.”

Om Chhangani and Vishal Rana are the producers, while Shashank Udapurkar is the writer and director. Sayeed Quadri wrote the lyrics, and Mithoon composed the music. Jaat, Sunny Deol's most recent film, was directed by Gopichand Malineni and starred Randeep Hooda. It was released in April.

Sunny had previously posted a video of himself watching fireworks in honour of his birthday, along with the words "Happy Birthday" from his team. "Happy birthday to ME," was his simple caption for the video.

In addition to "Gabru," Sunny Deol has a full schedule of upcoming films, including "Border 2" and "Lahore 1947." Anurag Singh's Border 2, a follow-up to the 1997 blockbuster, is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Dhawan also feature in the movie.

Sunny and Preity Zinta, who costarred with him in Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke, Dillagi, and The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, will reunite in "Lahore 1947." Rajkumar Santoshi is the film's director.
