Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza and others celebrate Diwali in an intimate celebration.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi celebrated Diwali with her close circle of friends, including Konkona Sen Sharma, Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Shahana Goswami, Divya Dutta, Tannishtha Chatterjee, her husband Javed Akhtar, and several others.

Sharing a happy group photo on Instagram, Shabana wrote, “Happy Diwali gathering of the Dher Saara Pyar gang to celebrate #TigerTan’s indomitable spirit and her glorious Busan award.”

She also added, “Urmila Matondkar and Sandhya Mridul, we missed you a lot. Anu, thank you for the delicious food, especially the Tender Coconut Panna Cotta. Javed has nicknamed it the ‘Tenco collaboration.’”

Tannishtha Chatterjee, who hosted the evening, commented, “Thanks for coming and making this auspicious evening so special. See what @azmishabana18 has to say about your amazing cooking @thebrandnukitchen.”

Dia Mirza also responded affectionately, writing, “My favourite girls,” while Urmila Matondkar, who couldn’t attend the celebration, left red heart emojis on the post.

This group of friends often meets and shares glimpses of their get-togethers. Just last month, Shabana had posted a series of photos with her girl gang as they celebrated Tannishtha’s big win at the Busan International Film Festival, even as she continues to bravely battle stage 4 oligo metastatic cancer.

At that time, Shabana had expressed her admiration for Tannishtha’s strength and spirit in a heartfelt Instagram post featuring Divya Dutta, Sandhya Mridul, Shahana Goswami, and Urmila Matondkar. She wrote, “To Tiger Tan, as she heads to the Busan International Film Festival with her directorial venture, which she completed during her cancer treatment. You rock of Gibraltar.”

On the professional front, Shabana Azmi was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, where her performance was widely appreciated.
