Outlander to end with season 8 in 2026, bringing Claire and Jamie’s epic love story to a close

But the Outlander universe isn’t over just yet. Starz has already renewed its prequel, Blood of My Blood, for a second season, continuing to expand the world that Diana Gabaldon first created in her best-selling novels.

The final season promises high drama, heartbreak, and closure for the Frasers. The official synopsis reads:

“Jamie and Claire find the Revolutionary War has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they’ve left the war for America’s freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.”

The final chapter will reunite familiar faces including Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Charles Vandervaart, and Izzy Meikle-Small alongside Balfe and Heughan.

Executive producers Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Andy Harries, Jim Kohlberg, and Balfe and Heughan themselves collaborate with showrunner Matthew B. Roberts behind the scenes.

Outlander, which is based on Gabaldon's well-loved novels, has crossed genre boundaries by fusing romance, fantasy, and historical drama with moving narratives and stunning performances.
