Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood veteran Govinda, has finally spoken up about the persistent rumours surrounding her husband’s alleged affair with a young Marathi actress. For months, gossip columns and social media chatter have suggested a rift in their marriage, but this is the first time Ssunita has addressed it publicly.
In a candid conversation on the Abraa Kaa Dabra Show podcast with Paras S Chhabra, Sunita admitted she’s aware of the buzz but refuses to draw conclusions without proof.
“I have said this many times to the media that I have also heard it. But, till the moment I don’t see him with my own eyes or catch him red-handed, I can’t declare anything. Maine suna hai koi Marathi actress hai but jabtakk usse main range hath na pakad lu, kuch nahi keh sakti” she said, asserting that speculation alone cannot define reality.
Sunita, known for her fiery honesty, didn’t hold back when discussing what she expects from Govinda at this stage of life. “This is not the age to do all of this. Govinda should be thinking about settling his daughter, and son Yash’s career. But, I have also heard the rumours and said that till the time I don’t open my mouth, don’t trust anything. I have even told the media that I will always say the truth because I don’t lie,” she said firmly.
The conversation also turned to her own identity beyond being a star’s wife. Sunita proudly spoke about her growing success as a YouTuber and the satisfaction of being financially independent.

“It’s going really well. I got the YouTube silver button within four months of vlogging. A woman should stand up on her own. It gives another level of happiness to earn your own money. Your husband gives money, but he will give once after asking 10 times. Your own earning is your own,” she shared with evident pride.
In her trademark humorous tone, she even threw in a playful message for her husband. “This house is small for us. I want to say through this podcast, ‘Chichi, buy me a big 5 bedroom hall house, otherwise see what happens to you,’” she laughed. Ssunita revealed that she currently stays with their children, Tina and Yashvardhan, while Govinda lives separately.
Touching upon old family disputes, Ssunita also spoke warmly about her nephew Krushna Abhishek and niece Aarti Singh, hinting that time has healed old wounds. “I have no fight with any kid now, both of them are my own children and they are the sweetest. This is not the age to fight with each other now. Krishna was brought up by me, most of his childhood. I have forgotten about everything now. I just want all the kids to be happy and smiling together. I want Aarti to become a mother soon, she comes home to tie rakhi to Yash,” she said.
Govinda and Ssunita, who tied the knot in 1987 and revealed their marriage only after the birth of their daughter Tina in 1989, have long been seen as one of Bollywood’s most enduring couples. Despite the storm of speculation, Ssunita’s words reflect both resilience and humour — qualities that have defined her through the decades.
