Asha Parekh pays tribute to Dharmendra, shares fond memories of the Deol family

Dharmendra and Asha Parekh have co starred in multiple movies

Veteran actor Dharmendra, lovingly known as He-Man of Bollywood, passed away on November 24, leaving a void in the entertainment industry. Veteran actor Asha Parekh has recently recalled the cherished memories with Dharmendra.

In a recent interview with NDTV, Asha Parekh expressed her profound sadness over Dharmendra's passing. She talked about her relationship with the Deol family, described Hema Malini as a very powerful lady, and disclosed which of Dharmendra's children most closely resembled him in terms of appearance and disposition.

The veteran actress also reflected if she was in touch with Dharmendra. Aasga Parekh said, “It was very kind of him to come to the launch of my book, The Hit Girl. We were not very much in touch, but we did two reality shows together. And once I met him at Aamir Khan's daughter's wedding."

However, the veteran actress also revealed that Sunny Deol looked like Dharmendra. She shared, “Sunny looks very much like him and is also a very emotional person like Dharam ji."

She added, “I have lovely memories of the Deol family." She further recalled that Vijeta Deol, Dharmendra's oldest daughter, whom they affectionately called Laali, used to sit on Asha Parekh's lap. "She has those photographs," said Asha Parekh.

Dharmendra and  Asha Parekh’s movies

Asha Parekh shared the screen space with Dharmendra multiple times. They co-starred in movies like Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966), Shikar (1968), Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke (1969), Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971), Samadhi (1972), Chirag (1969), and Kanyadaan (1968).

Dharmendra and Asha Parekh were among the popular on-screen couples of the 1960s and 1970s had a beautiful off-screen friendship.
