The ongoing filming of Kantara 2 has been plagued by a number of accidents, the most recent of which was a serious boat accident that occurred during production.
A boat carrying 30 people, including director and lead actor Rishab Shetty, capsized mid-shoot while the team was filming a pivotal scene at the Mani reservoir in the Masti Katte area of Karnataka's Shivamogga district, according to reports. The whole group was thrown into the water in an unexpected turn of events.

3. June 2025 Boat Capsizing: Rishab Shetty and roughly thirty crew members were on a boat when it capsized. Thankfully, everyone on board was safely rescued, and shooting quickly resumed.
4. Off-Set Deaths: Artists Rakesh Pujare (cardiac arrest, May 2025) and Kalabhavan Niju (heart attack, June 2025) died of illnesses unrelated to the movie set.
5. Additional Difficulties: In addition, the production has experienced negative weather, environmental criticism, and fines for violating forest dumping laws.
