It’s been a decade since SS Rajamouli redefined Indian cinema with Baahubali. Now, he’s back to remind audiences why the saga became a cultural landmark. On Tuesday, the makers dropped the teaser of Baahubali: The Epic—a remastered, cumulative cut of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
The 1 minute 17 seconds long teaser wastes no time in diving straight into nostalgia. “10 years ago, a story redefined Indian cinema. Two films. One name,” flashes the text before familiar frames storm the screen.
Watch Teaser:
Prabhas appears in his dual avatars of Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali, Rana Daggubati towers as Bhallaladeva, Anushka Shetty’s Devasena returns with fire in her eyes, and Tamannaah Bhatia’s Avantika brings the romantic spark. Sathyaraj as Kattappa and Ramya Krishnan’s fierce Sivagami also make their presence felt, before the teaser closes with the unforgettable visual of baby Baahubali lifted in water—a shot etched forever in pop culture.
This isn’t just a re-release. The makers are billing it as an “unforgettable experience,” with both films stitched together, remastered and reedited for today’s big-screen standards. And fans, predictably, are losing it.
Social media is buzzing with throwback posts, fan edits, and bold predictions—many already speculating whether Baahubali: The Epic can once again touch the ₹1000 crore mark globally.
The optimism isn’t misplaced. Back in July 2015, Baahubali: The Beginning stunned everyone with a ₹650 crore collection worldwide. Two years later, the sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion upped the game, collecting a staggering ₹1788 crore globally and cementing Rajamouli’s position as India’s most bankable filmmaker.
With Indian cinema now more global than ever, this repackaged Baahubali might just find a whole new audience while giving old fans another chance to relive the phenomenon on the big screen.
