Anupamaa makers to give Rs 10 Lakh compensation to family of crew member who died on set

B.N. Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), confirmed that Rajan Shahi’s production office has pledged Rs 10 lakh in compensation to Anil Mandal’s father.

Following the unfortunate death of crew member Anil Mandal on the sets of the popular television show Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguli, the production team has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for his family. Mandal, a focus puller, tragically lost his life due to electrocution during filming.

Mandal, who was unmarried, tragically lost his life on the set of Anupamaa after reportedly coming into contact with live wires, leading to electrocution. The heartbreaking incident has left the show's cast and crew deeply shaken as they mourn the untimely loss of a dedicated team member.

B.N. Tiwari provided additional insights into the tragic loss of Anil Mandal, explaining that Mandal was relatively new to the team, which is why he hadn't yet formed close bonds with many crew members. Tiwari detailed that Mandal lost his life on set due to a short circuit incident and assured that his family would receive the promised compensation.

The production house has issued an official statement expressing their condolences and acknowledging the unfortunate event. Director’s Kut Productions and Shahi Production Pvt. Ltd., the teams behind Rupali Ganguly’s show, conveyed profound grief over Anil Mandal's tragic passing. In their statement, they shared that they had arranged for Anil's family to travel from Patna and had taken care of all hospital and medical expenses.

They further mentioned that insurance benefits would be directly allocated to Anil's nominated beneficiary. The producers of the Rajan Shahi-led project reaffirmed their commitment to prioritizing the safety and welfare of their crew members moving forward.

The Director of Photography (DOP) attributed the incident to a 'human error.' Despite immediate medical attention, the crew member succumbed to their injuries.
