Amitabh Bachchan requests KBC contestant to not compare him with Allu Arjun, says, "the recognition he has received..."

On a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Amitabh Bachchan humbly requested a contestant not to compare him with Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, while expressing admiration for the Pushpa 2: The Rule actor’s exceptional talent.

Bachchan also took the opportunity to recommend the audience watch the much-anticipated film, applauding Arjun’s remarkable performances and contribution to cinema. His comments highlighted the mutual respect and camaraderie across regional and Bollywood film industries.

During the episode, contestant Rajni Barniwal, a homemaker from Kolkata, expressed her admiration for both Amitabh Bachchan and Allu Arjun. When Amitabh playfully remarked on her fondness for Arjun, she responded warmly, "Sir, I am a fan of both Allu Arjun and you." To which Amitabh replied playfully and said , “Adding my name is not going to make any difference now.”

The Piku actor further praised Allu Arjun saying, "Allu Arjun is an incredibly talented artist, and the recognition he has received is well-deserved. I’m also a huge fan of his. Recently, his movie was released (Pushpa 2: The Rule), and if you haven’t seen it yet, you should watch it. But don’t compare me to him."

Rajni, however, mentioned that Amitabh Bachchan and Allu Arjun share similarities. When prompted to explain, she highlighted her perspective saying "Both of you have incredible entrances, and your styles are quite similar. When you perform comedy scenes, both of you bite your collar and blink your eyes."

Amused, Amitabh asked her to mention a film where he displayed similar mannerisms. Rajni referred to his 1977 classic Amar Akbar Anthony, she added, "There’s another similarity between you two – both of your voices have a certain richness. Meeting you has fulfilled my dream; now I just need to meet Allu Arjun."

While promoting Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun was asked which Bollywood actor he finds most inspiring, he said, “Amitabh ji inspires me the most. I like Amitabh Bachchan the most because we have grown up watching his films. He had a great influence on us as we grew up. So if I have to say it in one word, I would say that I am a big fan of Amitabh ji."

The veteran actor expressed gratitude to Allu Arjun for his kind words and commended his impressive body of work.
