A Nampally court, which was reviewing actor Allu Arjun's regular bail petition, has postponed the proceedings until December 30.
Previously, the actor had been placed under a 14-day judicial remand, which was due to conclude today, 27th December.
The court's decision to delay the hearing has drawn significant attention, with many speculating that it could be tied to ongoing investigations or the submission of new evidence. Allu Arjun's fans are closely watching the situation, eagerly awaiting a prompt resolution of the case.
The actor attended the court hearing virtually today, as part of the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of a 35-year-old woman in a stampede during the screening of Pushpa 2 at a theater.
During the proceedings, the public prosecutor sought additional time to file a counter, prompting the court to defer the arguments for the bail plea.
The actor's legal team informed the court about the interim bail that had been granted to him earlier by the Telangana High Court.
In addition, the court postponed the hearing regarding the extension of Allu Arjun's judicial remand to January 10.
The Sandhya Theatre stampede case has attracted considerable public and legal scrutiny, with the actor's bail petition at the center of the ongoing proceedings. The upcoming hearing is anticipated to address both the public prosecutor's objections and Allu Arjun's request for regular bail.
A 35-year-old woman tragically lost her life, and her eight-year-old son is in the intensive care unit of a private hospital following a stampede at the benefit show of Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre on December 4.
Three weeks after the tragic incident, the accused, including the actor and theatre management, are being questioned, while the child continues to fight for his life in the hospital.
Recently, Allu Arjun and the makers of Pushpa 2 announced a compensation of Rs 2 crore for the family of the child involved in the stampede. Allu Arjun contributed Rs 1 crore, while Mythri Movies and director Sukumar each donated Rs 50 lakh. The compensation was presented to the family by film producer and Telangana Film Development Corporation chairperson, Dil Raju.
