Allu Arjun, Jr NTR and others: Dubai emerges as a new creative destination for Tollywood biggies

An era has passed when directors of Tollywood had to visit hill stations like Ooty or coastal locations like Goa for their script discussions or story sittings. In other news, the newest fad among Telugu filmmakers is- you guessed it right- Dubai; clothes off for a city that is transforming into the new hub for creativity, pre-production work and even vacation.

From conjuring blockbusters to throwing birthday bashes, Dubai quietly became the unofficial HQ for the crème de la crème of Tollywood.

Though Dubai has always been a popular destination for Indian celebs to unwind and luxury shopping, it is now also doubling up as a work spot for top filmmakers. Inside info suggests that director Sukumar has hired a service apartment in the city for conducting script sittings and discussing the music. From Dubai, he’s been busy with two big projects: Naga Chaitanya–Karthik Varma Dandu’s film and Ram Charan–Buchi Babu Sana’s film where he is part of both the films in multiple ways.

Allu Arjun and Atlee were also in Dubai recently. As per the industry insiders, Allu Arjun has recently invested in a luxurious property in the city.

On the other hand, Jr. NTR also recently went on a brief family trip to Dubai and joined his shoot with director Prashanth Neel, again showcasing the city's charm for Tollywood stars.

The glitz and glam of Dubai have also made it a favourite spot for celebrity birthdays and destination weddings. In recent months, several high-profile actors and producers have opted to host their private soirees at the Indian city’s plush resorts.

Work or play, the city hasn’t lost its lure for the talent of Telugu movies, who make it the hub of creativity and the new cultural cauldron of Tollywood.
