Akshay Kumar teases Kesari 2 on the film's 6th anniversary, says, "New battle, same fire"

Kesari received massive success at the box office and collected over Rs 200 crore worldwide. Akshay Kumar delighted his fans with Kesari 2 announcement.

Akshay Kumar announces Kesari 2

Akshay Kumar brought a storm in 2019 with his blockbuster film, Kesari. The actor is celebrating the sixth anniversary of the film and has created a buzz with his latest social media post.

Akshay took to his Instagram to pay tribute to the film and teased Kesari 2. The actor shared a video featuring photos from the film. Alongside the video, Akshay wrote, “Celebrating 6 years of Kesari. Celebrating the spirit of Kesari.”

The actor then hinted in the caption, “Celebrating a new chapter that begins...soon!” The video also featured texts that revealed further details about the original film and the upcoming sequel.

The text reads, “6 years ago… A story of courage shook the nation… 21 Sikhs against thousands of Afghans. Outnumbered. Surrounded. But never defeated. They fought like lions, they became legends. History wrote one chapter… Now, we tell the next.”

The text continued, “The saffron rises again. New battle, same fire. Tomorrow… Details regarding the sequel will be announced tomorrow.”

Kesari was directed by Anurag Singh and features Akshay and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles. The film depicts the real story of Havildar Ishar Singh, played by Akshay, a soldier in the British Indian Army, who leads 21 Sikh soldiers in a fight against 10,000 Pashtun invaders.

The film follows the events leading to the Battle of Saragarhi, a war between 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897.

The 2019 film was a notable hit at the box office and grossed over Rs 200 crore worldwide. The film also becomes one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of that year.
