Abir Gulaal teaser out: Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s romantic comedy set to release on May 9

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, a Bollywood actress, are coming together for a romantic comedy called Abir Gulaal. The movie will release on May 9, 2025, and the teaser is already out.

The story is set in the beautiful streets of London. It’s about an unexpected love story filled with surprises, sweet moments, and lots of laughter. According to the film’s description, the movie offers a mix of emotions—funny, magical, and heartwarming—along with amazing chemistry between Fawad and Vaani.

The film is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, known for Chalti Rahe Zindagi. It is produced by Indian Stories and A Richer Lens, in collaboration with Aarjay Pictures. Some big names behind the project include Vivek B. Agrawal (known for Queen, Udta Punjab, Sacred Games), Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy.

Since 2016, there has been an unofficial ban on Pakistani artists working in Indian films because of political issues. But in 2023, the Bombay High Court rejected a petition to make this ban official. The court said that art and culture should bring peace and unity, not division.

Fawad Khan is well-loved in India for his roles in Khoobsurat (2014) and Kapoor & Sons (2016). He also appeared in the Marvel series Ms. Marvel and the Pakistani hit The Legend of Maula Jatt. His recent show Barzakh premiered at Series Mania in 2023.
