The Opposition in Maharashtra, represented by the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, has successfully reached an agreement on the distribution of Lok Sabha seats in the state for the upcoming 2024 general elections. Led by Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena, the MVA has devised a strategic seat-sharing formula to maximize its impact in Maharashtra's political landscape.
According to the finalized deal, the Shiv Sena will contest on 21 out of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, solidifying its position as a key player within the alliance. The Congress party has graciously agreed to contest on 17 seats, demonstrating a spirit of cooperation and unity within the opposition front. Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will actively participate in the electoral battle by fielding candidates in 10 Lok Sabha constituencies across the state.

Similarly, the Congress party will field candidates in the constituencies of Nandurbar, Dhule, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli-Chimur, Chandrapur, Nanded, Jalna, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai North, Pune, Latur, Solapur, Kolhapur and Ramtek seats. The NCP, under Sharad Pawar's leadership, will contest in the key battlegrounds of Baramati, Shirur, Satara, Bhiwandi, Dindori, Madha, Raver, Wardhan, Ahmednagar South and Beed seats.
As Maharashtra braces itself for the electoral showdown that is scheduled in five phases from April 19 to May 20, the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance stands united—poised to confront the challenges ahead and emerge as a formidable force in the political arena.
