In Ujjain MP Lok Sabha Elections 2024,the BJP has maintained a strong grip on the Ujjain Lok Sabha seat, although it was initially won by the Congress party.

Ujjain constitutes one of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. It was formed in 1951 and has been a reserved seat for the Scheduled Castes since 1965. It votes on May 13 during Phase 4 of the elections. Currently, the parliamentary constituency of Ujjain is represented by Anil Firojiya, a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

As per the 2011 census, Ujjain's population stood at 2,290,606, with 63.49% residing in rural areas and 36.51% in urban areas. Scheduled Caste individuals make up 26% of the district's population. In the 2014 elections, Ujjain had 1,525,481 registered voters according to the Election Commission's records. The Ujjain Lok Sabha constituency encompasses seven Vidhan Sabha seats: Nagada-Khachrod, Ghatiya, Vadnagar, Mahidpur, Ujjain North, Ujjain South, Alot, and Tarana.

The BJP has maintained a strong grip on the Ujjain Lok Sabha seat, although it was initially won by the Congress party.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Anil Firozia secured victory by defeating Babu Lal Malviya of the Congress. Firozia garnered 791,663 votes while Babu Lal Malviya received 426,026 votes. The 2019 elections saw a voter turnout of more than 75%.

Similarly, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Prof Chintamani Malviya emerged victorious by defeating Premchand Guddu of the Congress. Chintamani secured 641,101 votes, which accounted for 63.08% of the total votes, while Premchand received 331,438 votes, making up 32.61% of the votes. The margin of victory was significant, with Chintamani winning by 309,663 votes.

As the constituency continues to evolve, its political landscape remains dynamic, shaped by both local issues and national trends. It will be interesting to see if Ujjain votes to bring the incumbent BJP back into power or chooses to go with the INC.
