Lok Sabha Elections 2024: AAP reacts to latest allegations against Arvind Kejriwal

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday described the Congress and the opposition INDIA bloc as 'Ramdrohi' and 'Rashtradrohi', accusing them of betraying God and the country.

Adityanath's comments came a day after AICC spokesperson Radhika Khera resigned from the party claiming that she faced intense criticism within the party for visiting the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

As many as 54 candidates remain in the fray after withdrawal of names in three constituencies for the May 20 Lok Sabha polls in Jharkhand, an official said on Monday.

"Taking cognizance of the certain violations of MCC and the extant legal provisions by Political Parties /their representatives while using social media for election campaigning, the Commission today has issued directions to political parties for responsible and ethical use of social media in election campaigning to ensure level playing field among all stakeholders," the Election Commission said in a statement

Union Minister and BJP candidate from Mumbai North, Piyush Goyal said, "Congress is anti-Sanatan, anti-Hindu. On the third phase of voting to be held tomorrow, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia says, "There are 7 seats of the state in this phase. In this phase too, the BJP flag will fly on all the 7 seats."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to Congress claims on Sunday that if the BJP were to win back control of the government, reservations would be eliminated. Modi has been in power for the past ten years, but instead of eliminating reservations, he used the majority in the Lok Sabha to revoke Article 370, end Triple Talaq, and build the Ram Temple.
"Congress said that if PM Modi comes to power, the reservation will be removed," declared Amit Shah during a rally on Sunday in Nizamabad, Telangana. "PM Modi has been in power for the last 10 years...he utilised the majority for removing Article 370, to end triple talaq, to make Ram Temple, and to ban PFI." (ANI)

- Prominent contestants also include royal scions Shahu Chhatrapati of the Congress in Kolhapur and BJP’s Udayanraje Bhosale in Satara as well Union minister Narayan Rane in Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg.

Raj-Samadhiyala village of Rajkot district, Gujarat does not allow any political campaign.

As per the Sarpanch, there is a reason for it. Here's what he said. Polling in Gujarat for all 26 Lok Sabha seats will happen in a single phase on May 7.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two NDA election meetings in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, featuring alliance partners N Chandrababu Naidu from the TDP and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan. The first meeting is scheduled in the afternoon at Vemagiri in Rajamahendravaram, East Godavari district, followed by another one later in the day at Anakapalli.

- "The Prime Minister is expected to land at Rajamahendravaram airport around noon. He will address his first meeting here at 3:30 pm and then proceed to Anakapalli for the second meeting scheduled at 5:30 pm," a BJP leader said. The PM's meetings , titled "Prajagalam" (people's voice) in the southern state follow the first NDA poll rally at Boppudi village in Palnadu district on March 17, in the run-up to the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on May 13.

- The NDA, if voted to power again at the Centre, will implement "one nation-one election" system across the country, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted on Sunday.

- Speaking during an election rally at the Kadapa district's Jammalamadugu, he attacked the Andhra Pradesh government of the YSR Congress and said that the state's corrupt practices were to blame for the state's Rs 13.5 lakh crore debt.

- Attacking the YSRCP, Singh claimed that the public was tired of the incumbent party's poor handling of law and order. He also promised that Andhra Pradesh would be freed from "corruption" if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was elected to power.

- The BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit on Sunday slapped a show cause notice on the party's Fatehpur Sikri MLA Babulal Chaudhary after his son filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate from the Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha seat.

- The saffron party has fielded incumbent MP Rajkumar Chahar from the constituency. However, Babulal Chaudhary's son Rameshwar Chaudhary has also filed his nomination from the seat and is contesting as an Independent candidate.

- Govind Narayan Shukla, the BJP's state general secretary, told PTI that state unit chief Bhupendra Singh Choudhary has issued a show cause notice to Babulal Chaudhary and sought his response by 5 pm on Monday.

- The number of first-time voters in Delhi has risen to 2.43 lakh, the Chief Electoral Officer's office said on Sunday, citing the latest data. The final electoral roll published on January 22 had shown a significant increase in the number of first-time voters in Delhi to 1.47 lakh, it said in a statement.

- "The latest data reveals a remarkable increase from 1,47,074 (1.47 lakh) to approximately 2.43 lakh first-time voters enlisted in the voting list. The CEO (Chief Electoral Officer) hoped that the final figure would increase up to approximately 2.50 lakh after publication of the supplementary electoral roll," the Delhi poll body said. "This achievement stands as a testament to the effective implementation of voter awareness campaigns, targeting the youth demographic," it added.

- The Congress on Sunday night announced the names of candidates for Lahaul and Spiti and Barsar assembly constituencies in Himachal Pradesh where bypolls are scheduled for June 1.

- The party has fielded Zila Parishad chairperson Anuradha Rana from Lahaul and Spiti seat and Subash Chand from Barsar constituency.

- According to a release issued by the Congress, the candidature of Rana and Chand was approved by party president Mallikarjun Kharge.
