Lok Sabha Elections Highlights: Delhi Social Welfare Minister Raaj Kumar Anand resigns from his post as a minister and also from Aam Aadmi Party today, reported ANI.
Launching the poll pitch for the 18th Lok Sabha polls, party chief Akhilesh Yadav said "The main demands in this vision document are - the right to protect the constitution, the right to protect democracy, the right to freedom of media, and the right to social justice... the right to social justice is needed for the development of the country. Inclusive development isn't possible without the caste census. Caste census is the axis of development of the country..."
For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party unveiled its 10th list of candidates. The BJP has declared the names of nine candidates on the list.
In place of current Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher, the saffron party fielded Sanjay Tandon. Asansol has issued a ticket to SS Ahluwalia, a former Union Minister.
Raju Parwe of the Shiv Sena, a prominent candidate in the next elections, is hoping to get more support from this event. PM Modi's trip to Nagpur comes after he addressed electorates in a number of states, including Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. The NDA has been working hard to garner support for Raju Parwe, who joined Shiv Sena earlier in March, and this event in Ramtek is evidence of that.
On Wednesday, April 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold his third public gathering in the Kongu district of Tamil Nadu, with the aim of enhancing the BJP's electoral campaign. Two public gatherings in Vellore and Mettupalayam, Coimbatore, are slated for Modi's speech in advance of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Election Commission has decided to install GPS location tracking system in all vehicles that will be used for polling purposes in West Bengal, an official said. A communication in this regard has been sent to the poll workers, he said on Monday.

- According to official sources, the Enforcement Directorate has communicated with the Election Commission, informing that a money laundering inquiry has revealed that the ruling CPI(M) in Kerala possesses approximately 80 undisclosed bank accounts and around 100 unreported immovable assets in Thrissur district.
- The central investigative agency uncovered these assets during its probe of the affairs of the Thrissur-based Karuvannur Service Cooperative Bank, during which Kerala CPI(M) MLA and former cabinet minister AC Moideen were questioned.
- PTI official sources further disclosed that the agency has apprised the EC of the party's association with approximately 80 undisclosed bank accounts, holding deposits valued at around Rs 25 crore.
- The ED has alleged that the deposits in these bank accounts were primarily made in cash.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 LIVE: Harvest songs flavour in rural Bihar Lok Sabha election campaign
- It is harvesting season in Bihar where a large section of the people is busy in 'katni' (harvesting) of rabi crops while keeping an eye on the hustle and bustle of Lok Sabha polls. No wonder, many Lok Sabha candidates are utilising the services of folk singers well versed in "katni", a genre named after the colloquial term for harvesting.
- Popular farmer leader and Bihar's former Agriculture minister Sudhakar Singh, who is RJD's nominee from the Buxar Lok Sabha seat, told PTI, "Yes, we take help of local folk singers, experts in singing Katni songs while campaigning in rural areas during harvesting season. We are taking their help in this election also." According to the Bihar Economic Survey (2023-24) the state has over 88 per cent rural population and 50 per cent of its workforce is engaged in agriculture.
- "We plan our campaign in rural areas of my constituency keeping the harvesting season in mind. It is true that most of the time, rural electorates are found in the field because of the ongoing harvesting season. We take care of farmers," said Singh. The harvesting season of Rabi crops, especially wheat, typically starts in April and continues until May 15. Most of the rural electorates are farmers or farm labourers. Candidates also use famous local folk singers and experts in harvesting (Katni) songs to lure rural voters during the campaign.

- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Monday there is no "Modi wave" in the coming Lok Sabha elections, and there is enthusiasm among the people in favour of the Congress and its five guarantees in the State. Siddaramaiah urged the voters of Bangalore South parliamentary segment to defeat BJP candidate and MP Tejasvi Surya to resolve the city's drinking water issues and to implement the Mekedatu project.
- Mekedatu is a multi-purpose (drinking water and power) project proposed by Karnataka, which involves building a balancing reservoir near Kanakapura in Ramanagara district. The Chief Minister claimed that there is enthusiasm among people in favour of Congress and its five guarantee schemes, and there is no wave in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

We will win all seats in Bihar. We do not engage in self-publicity, but people know what we have done for them".

- The Congress on Wednesday announced the names of candidates for six more Lok Sabha constituencies and 12 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh.
- As per the decision of the party's Central Election Committee, former Tirupati MP C Mohan will contest the Lok Sabha election from the same reserved (SC) constituency and K Raju is the candidate for Nellore segment.
- P Satyanarayana Reddy is the candidate from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency, V Venkatesh (Anakapalli), K Lavanya (Eluru) and G Alexander Sudhakar (Narsaraopeta), said AICC general secretary K C Venugopal in a press release.
