The voting for all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana is scheduled to take place during the sixth phase of the ongoing general polls on May 25.

The voting for all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana is scheduled to take place during the sixth phase of the ongoing general polls on May 25. Haryana has 10 Lok Sabha seats-- Ambala, Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Hisar, Karnal, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Gurgaon and Faridabad.

In Haryana, the BJP is contesting all 10 seats on its own. While the Congress is fighting on nine seats, the AAP is fighting on the lone seat of Kurukshetra. For the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, the BJP has fielded former CM Manohar Lal Khattar from the Karnal seat whereas it has gone for industrialist Naveen Jindal to battle it out in Kurukshetra.

The Congress, on the other hand, has hedged its bets on Raj Babbar against Union minister and sitting MP Rao Inderjit Singh in Gurugram. The grand old party has fielded ex-Chief Minister Bhoopinder Singh Hooda's son Deependra Singh Hooda from Rohtak against BJP's Arvind Kumar Sharma.

Here are the key seats:

ROHTAK: Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda, who lost narrowly last time, is contesting again from this seat. He is pitted against current MP Arvind Sharma. It is a battle of prestige for Hooda as well as his father and former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The election will also decide how much sway the father and the son will hold over the Congress unit in Haryana.

HISAR: Three family members of the Chautala clan—BJP’s Ranjit Chautala, INLD’s Sunaina Chautala and JJP’s Naina Chautala—are contesting from this seat while Congress has fielded Jai Prakash.

SIRSA: Former Congress state chief Ashok Tanwar is now the BJP candidate from this seat against former Union minister and Congress leader Kumari Selja. The contest is seen as a fight to prove who among the two is a bigger leader of SCs in the state.

Bhiwani-Mahendragarh: Lok Sabha seat that came into existence in 2009 (before that it used to be Bhiwani constituency) covers three districts. It includes Loharu, Bhiwaniand, and Tosham of Bhiwani district; Badhra and Dadri of Charkhi Dadri district (the newest constructed district in 2016); Ateli, Mahendragarh, Narnaul and Nangal Chaudhary of Mahendragarh district.

Gurgaon: The Lok Sabha seat from where BJP has renominated Rao Inderjit while Congress has brought in Bollywood actor and senior Congress leader Raj Babbar covers three districts including Bawal and Rewari in Rewari district; Pataudi, Badshahpur, Gurgaon and Sohna in Gurgaon district; and Nuh, Feroepur Jhirka and Punahana in Nuh district.

Karnal Lok Sabha seat from where Manohar Lal Khattar is contesting against Congress’ candidate Divyanshu Buddhiraja covers two districts including Nilokheri, Indri, Karnal, Gharaunda and Assandh in Karnal district and Panipat rural and Panipat city, Israna and Samalkha in Panipat district.
