The Congress on March 12 released its second list of 43 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The grand old party has fielded Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh again. In the 2019 elections, Chhindwara was the only constituency in MP that Congress managed to win.
In the last few days, there was a buzz that Kamal Nath and his son Nakul may defect to the BJP. However, the Congress had rubbished the speculations.
Acccording to the list, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi will contest from Jorhat in Assam, Rahul Kaswa will contest from Rajasthan's Churu and Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav Gehlot will contest from Rajasthan's Jalore.
The party also named Phool Singh Baraiya from Madhya Pradesh's Bhind.
In the list, out of the 43 candidates, 10 are General candidates, 13 OBC candidates, 10 SC candidates, 9 ST candidates and 1 Muslim candidate.
Last week, Congress had released its first list of 39 candidates, fielding Rahul Gandhi from Kerala's Wayanad seat again.
According to the first list, former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel will contest from Rajnandgaon and Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram.
The BJP has already list a list of 195 candidates for the general election. The saffron party's second list is expected soon.
