Opinion poll 2024: BJP to retain all 7 seats in Delhi

According to the survey, the NDA will record a vote share of 58 percent while the INDIA bloc will see 39 percent without winning any seat.

The Congress and AAP have finalised their seat-sharing arrangement in Delhi.

The BJP-led NDA will win all the seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital, News18's Mega Opinion Poll has revealed.

According to the survey, the NDA will record a vote share of 58 percent while the INDIA bloc will see 39 percent without winning any seat.

The seats in Delhi are Chandni Chowk, East Delhi, New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi (SC), South Delhi, and West Delhi. Out of this, one seat is reserved for the Scheduled Caste category.

On March 2, the BJP announced the first list consisting of five names from Delhi. The first list included Bansuri Swaraj, Praveen Khandelwal, Manoj Tiwari,Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, and Kamaljeet Sehrawat. In its second list, the party dropped six out of its seven sitting MPs. Harsh Malhotra will contest from East Delhi and Yogendra Chandolia from North West Delhi.

Meanwhile, AAP’s Delhi unit chief Arvinder Singh Lovely is learnt to have opted out from being considered as a potential candidate from the Northeast Delhi seat.

“There will be a total of 23 (Lok Sabha) candidates of AAP, of which five have already been announced. Today, we are announcing five more candidates of which four are from Delhi and one from Haryana. Somnath Bharti will be the candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, Sahi Ram will be the candidate from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi and Kuldeep Kumar from East Delhi. Along with this, Sushil Gupta will be the candidate from Haryana's Kurukshetra,” AAP leader Sandeep Pathak said.

The Congress and AAP have finalised their seat-sharing arrangement in Delhi. According to the agreement, AAP will contest in four constituencies, while Congress will field candidates in the remaining three seats.

The Lok Sabha elections in the national capital are usually conducted in a single phase. In 2019, the voting in Delhi was held on May 12. The city witnessed a total voter turnout of 60.60 percent in 2019, while it was 65.10 percent in 2014.
