IIT Kharagpur yet to place 41% students, reveals RTI data

In the last placement season, 33 percent of students at IIT Kharagpur were not able to secure placements.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is yet to place 41 percent of its students of the 2023-24 batch in the ongoing placement season, as per right to information (RTI) data shared with Moneycontrol.

The Career Development Centre (CDC) of IIT Kharagpur, in a RTI reply to Dheeraj Singh, founder of Global IIT Alumni Support Group, said while 2,660 students registered for the placement process, only 1,564 managed to get job offers as of June 12, 2024.

To be sure, the RTI did not provide the median and average salary recorded so far.
