Agniveer candidates must complete a 1.6 km run (5:30 mins for males, 6:30 mins for females), perform 6 pull-ups (males) or 13-second flexed arm hang (females), and clear a 9-foot ditch jump to test endurance and agility.

Minimum height requirements are 162 cm (males) and 152 cm (females), with relaxations for tribal/hilly areas. Males need 5 cm chest expansion. Weight must proportionally match height.

Corrected vision must be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other. Some trades require 6/6 uncorrected vision. LASIK surgery may disqualify candidates in certain cases. Normal hearing is mandatory.

Only small tattoos on inner forearms or back of hands are permitted. Religious tattoos elsewhere may be allowed for tribal candidates. Visible offensive tattoos lead to rejection.

Candidates need at least 14 functional teeth without severe decay or gum disease. Missing teeth affecting chewing ability or requiring implants may cause disqualification.

Chronic diseases (asthma, diabetes, epilepsy), major surgeries (heart/spine), or fractures with implants are disqualifying conditions. Candidates must be medically fit for rigorous training.

Body Mass Index must fall between 18-25. Underweight or overweight candidates are rejected as it indicates poor fitness or health issues affecting performance.

A military hospital conducts the final check. Unfit candidates get 42 days to appeal. Only those meeting all standards proceed to training.
