A speeding SUV crashed into a house in Delhi’s Rohini Sector 25 late Monday night, after breaking through the front gate and driving straight into the living room. CCTV footage of the incident shows the white SUV losing control (Watch) and heading directly towards the house before smashing through the metal gate and entering the home.

Inside, an elderly woman was resting on a sofa when the vehicle burst in. She narrowly escaped serious injury, though the impact destroyed furniture, appliances, and several household items. The video shows the SUV pushing aside everything in its path as it comes to a halt inside the room.

After hearing the loud crash, the neighbours rushed out and gathered at the spot within minutes. There has been a rise of such cases of rash driving in Delhi-NCR, especially as similar videos frequently emerge from across the region.

According to a data from the Ministry of Road Transport, speeding was responsible for over 72% of road accidents in Delhi in 2023, leading to 1,457 deaths that year.
