A 35-year-old woman was attacked and had her nose sliced with a knife by her husband in Gwalior on Saturday, The Times of India reported citing police.
The incident occurred near a hotel when the woman, a resident of Ramtapura, was on her way to work at a local dairy in Tansen Nagar. She has been living separately from her husband and is currently renting a home in Char Shahar Naka.
According to the report, the woman was walking towards her workplace when her husband confronted her near Hotel Flynn. He allegedly hurled abuses, accused her of being unfaithful and when she protested, grabbed her by the neck and attacked her with a knife, slashing her nose.
Before feeling the scene, the accused also threatened to kill the woman. As locals alerted police, the woman was rushed to a hospital, and police recorded her statement.
In her complaint, the woman told the police that her husband frequently doubted her character and fought with her, which forced her to leave him and live separately with their daughter. Gwalior Police was quoted by TOI as saying that the accused is currently absconding, and raids are being conducted at his possible hideouts. He is expected to be arrested soon.
