The announcement marks the arrival of Mumbai's first-ever FIA-grade Street racing circuit; a milestone that will place the city firmly on the global sporting calendar. The circuit, a 3.753 km track featuring 14 turns, starts at Palm Beach Road and extends alongside Nerul Lake, creating a scenic backdrop for the night race. The event is expected to attract top drivers and celebrity team owners, combining motorsport with entertainment and glamour.
“The Mumbai Street Race marks a historic milestone in Maharashtra’s motorsport journey,” Fadnavis was quoted by The Economic Times as saying.
“It will inspire young racers, generate jobs, and boost tourism, while showcasing our capability to host world-class events,” he added.
The 2025 season commenced with rounds in Coimbatore and Chennai, with subsequent rounds planned for Coimbatore and Goa before culminating in Navi Mumbai.
