BHEL - Grant of Maharatna status to BHEL

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has informed BSE that Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Department of Public Enterprises vide its letter dated February 01, 2013, has informed that the competent authority has approved the grant of Maharatna status to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). The delegation of powers, exercise of delegated powers etc. will be governed as per guidelines laid down vide Department’s O.M. of even number dated February 04, 2010, which inter alia, provide that the exercise of delegated Maharatna powers is subject to appointment of requisite number of non-official Directors as per SEBI guidelines.
