This plant was set up as part of backward integration to meet with the raw material needs of our own manufacturing plant.

Stainless Steel Sheets of different sizes and type are manufactured for captive consumption and sale. Capacities have been recently increased and domestic sales have commenced. The company plans more expansion and looks at the optimization in this area of core competence as a step towards better stability and sustainability.

A new state-of-the-art steel plant is being set up at a cost of 150million dollars. The plant will manufacture steel sheets and rods and is scheduled to be operational in 2011. Varun plans to set up a steel plant in Bagalkot, Karnataka at a cost of 65 million dollars. The development will catapult the company to the elite group of large steel manufacturers.
