The actual intrest rates are not much lower but whatever discount they offered right now has to be (discounted intrest part) repaid after 5 or 7 years or so. For that the company has issued bonds and as well as for part forex losses which were with indian bankers. These bonds are longterm debt sources not like prefferential equity....

as i am under impression that when wockhardt comes under debt restructuring and Banks has given money at low interest rate ( it seems)then there was news that banks may get some share ( may be preference share) in lieu of loan.
i think Mgmt is very clever to resources the fund....

if they don`t offer then show losses in hedging positions and at the same time book your profits on your personal positions. it will be gain for you and loss for the company..! so simple.

you will be more than vikram pandit(a $1 CEO). Media will sure highlite as zero Rs CFO.........:-) ...

they are ethical....i am confident on that part..........

they will survive but its a fractured participant......who was leading in top position.
