Guys I completely agree with Shridhar look at the pattern it was taken to 1000 and was consolidating at that rate and was brought down to 930 levels and from there on was taken to 1100 odd rate and since last 2 days the stock is brought down the stock is down by Rs.60-70 since Thursday and the there is a possibility that the operators will beat it down further more. Do not fear and keep on holding the scrip. Trust this will taken as a small advice those who trust in the future of their holding in this company. Loose heart holders please be firm....Thanking you we remain.........

SMALL SHAREHOLDERS DONT DUMP AZ
This share is being slowly accumulated by Institutions with deep pockets, looking at its potential.I request small shareholders not to dump their holdings. There is a pattern of beating down the share initially and then the buying volumes are increasing continuously SO THAT THE SCARED SMALL INVESTORS PART WITH THEIR HOLDINGS......

BONUS? RIGHTS? BUYBACK ON OPEN OFFER ?
ONE OF THEM IS A MUST !!!

ASTRA ZENECA is a solid multinational Co
with very strong fundamentals,a sound management ,a rich pipeline of products & a strong thrust on marketing which the Co has recently adopted in India, which will bear fruits shortly. These are not the only reasons for the outperformance of the stock in the short, medium & Long term.

Just consider this...

The passing of the SCRA(Securities Contract Regulation Act),which envisages a mandatory reduction of promoter holding in a listed Co in India, is a foregone conclusion very shortly and as per this, AZ will have to reduce their holding to 75%from the present 90% .This can be done by the co by
1.Issue bonus shares to only non promoter shareholders which is allowed by law. This means they will have to issue 37.5lakhs shares to the existing shareholders. This option is unlikely immediately as they would have to reduce their holdings in tranches of 5 % every year for 3 years from
2010.
2.A rights issue at a dicount to the market price ,which will definitely benifit the minority shareholders, bcos the issue here is to make the rights issue a success to reduce the shareholding. This option is likely
OR
3.Make an OPEN OFFER to the minority shareholders ,mop up the promoter shareholding to above 95% and delisting the shares from the Indian stock exchanges.
This option is also likely

Which ever way you look at the options the co has ,this will benifit the shareholders in this co immensely.Contradicting views to my observations most welcome!

gaurav242 be patient and since your cost is virtually free since you would have got your investments by way of dividends for years do not be in hurry to sell the holding as you would get atleast 1500-1600 rate in this scrip and since the company has low equity base with huge reserves they might announce bonus in december which this their financial year end and also if the law of minimum 25% holding should be in the form of public holding is applied then the company would have only 2 options either to issue bonus shares or buy back there is a bleak possibility of company issuing rights issue as capital is not the issue with them net net my advise would be to hold on till yearly results are out.Cheers..... you can check company`s balance sheet for equity capital and reserves....

I was surprised to read in the Financial chronicle today that Astra Zeneca was up in the overseas market on rumours of a buyout offer from Novartis.I know that AZ is a 29.5$ billion dollar company but can anyone tell me what is the size of Novartis ? Not that size matters in such deals but still,AZ being the no 2 drug maker in the U.K,is it possible for Novartis to take over AZ ?OR CAN IT BE THE OTHER WAY ROUND? PLEASE ENLIGHTEN.......
