IATA reports global slowdown in June

International air travel association (IATA) announced global air traffic numbers for June today. Although, the numbers showed growth, it was much slower compared to 2011.

Demand for air travel expanded in June by 6.2% year-on-year. Capacity, though, grew at a much cautious 4.5%. Indian domestic travel slunk by 0.7% YoY in June.

IATA passed the buck to global uncertainty for slow growth as consumers and businesses were treading cautiously.
