Amrutanjan Board okays merger of Siva's Soft Drink

Pain-balm major Amrutanjan Health Care has merged its beverage business entity and subsidiary - Siva's Soft Drink, manufacturers of fruit juices under the brand "Fruitnik", with the company.

The company's board at their meeting today have approved the merger of Siva's Soft Drink Pvt Ltd with the company, Amrutanjan said in a statement. Last year, the company announced its foray in to the beverage business by acquiring Siva's Soft Drink at Rs 26.20 crore.

On the company's financials, Amrutanjan Health Care reported a 35.1% jump on its net profits at Rs 4.31 crore for the third quarter ending December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 3.19 crore registered during the same period of previous year.

For the nine months period ending December 31, 2011 the net profits of the company rose to Rs 8.05 crore from Rs 3.86 crore registered during the same period of previous year.

The total income of the company for the quarter ending December 31, 2011 stood at Rs 36.36 crore as against Rs 34.22 crore registered during the same period of previous year.

For the nine month period ending December 31, 2011 total income of the company rose to Rs 83.39 crore from Rs 69.07 crore registered during the same period of previous year.

The company declared an interim dividend of Rs five per share (50% on face value of Rs10) for the year 2011-12, it added.

Amrutanjan a strong player in the health care industry currently offers various products in pain management, cough and cold, health and home care segments. It also exports to East Asia, Middle East and South East Asian markets.
